Here we go again! Rose Tree Media wants to add another 3.5% tax increase on residents on top of the 47%+ tax increase over the past three years that Delaware County Council has given us! They are using $4.6 million in fund balance, aka “Rainy Day Funds” to cover their budget shortfall. In effect, the tax increase the board is being proposed could be even bigger if the fund balance wasn’t used to alleviate some of the cost. However, this could leave the district with less fund balance to use for future budgets.

Also, the School Board heard about a proposal to use eminent domain to take additional land for the proposed K-1 Center on Rose Tree Rd and Route 352. How can the board consider this while increasing taxes on residents yet again?
